Beschreibung: Nick Curran describes his music as a cocktail consisting of the sounds of no less than seventeen widely differing musicians blended together with a cup of broken glass. That only begins to characterize the wallop packed by the 98-proof elixir of this singer, songwriter and monster guitarist who effortlessly carries the past with him as he blazes across the musical landscape in perpetual forward motion.
Nick Curran was born on Sept 30, 1977 in Biddeford, Maine, and grew up in nearby Sanford. He started playing drums when he was three, occasionally pounding the skins for his father’s rock n roll band. However, when he received a guitar for Christmas at age nine he had found his instrument. He taught himself to play while following his father s advice: "Listen to everything that you like and eventually you ll find your own style within all your influences."
Support: HOT RAILS (Rockabilly, Blues, Dresden) // "The Josh" (vocals and guitar) has toured with Kick em Jenny, Jack Rabbit Slim, Johnny Law and the Pistol Packin Daddies, Eddy and the Backfires and The Go Getters. He has played at such shows as Viva Las Vegas (USA), Wintersun Festival (Au), 20 Flight Rock, Cruise Inn, Hot Rod Hayride (UK), Byron Bay Blues and Roots Festival (Au), The Rockabilly Boogie Weekender and Screamin Festival (Es) to name a few. Quoting Ricky Lee Brawn from the Space Cadets "He reminds me of a young Boz Boorer...." Luton 2007. Now he has relocated to Dresden to work with Hot Rails on a full time basis. DJ Devil (Drums), Rockin Raoul (Bass) and Mirko Rail (Sax/Vocals) make up the powerhouse trio supporting The Josh and have worked together for many years as the Lazy Boys. Country, rockin blues and rockabilly are all musical styles they play with ease. Having toured the US and all over Europe.
